Supply chain design under disruptions considering risk mitigation strategies for robustness and resiliency

Disruptions have become more commonplace in the globalised business environment; thus, many firms been attempting to find risk mitigation strategies (RMS) create robust and resilient supply chains. To this extent, study evaluates performance of various chains utilising different RMS cope with disruptions using optimisation simulation. In phase, mixed integer programming is used a three-echelon chain design. Then, initial further configured incorporate two for robustness (i.e., redundancy multi-sourcing). simulation aforementioned chains, without robustness, are exposed random severity levels, effectiveness four resiliency (e.g., visibility, flexibility) tested key indicators such as order fulfilment rates profits. The results indicate that alone better suited under mild moderate while combination essential handle severe disruptions.
